What stage is StreamBox currently at?
StreamBox is beyond the concept stage. We have working prototype hardware and functioning StreamBox software undergoing continued development and reliability testing. Kickstarter funding will help move the project through final production engineering, manufacturing, compliance work, packaging, and fulfillment.
What is the difference between StreamBox Standard and StreamBox Pro?
Both models are planned to provide the same core StreamBox streaming functionality. Standard is currently targeted at 4 GB RAM and 64 GB eMMC storage. Pro is targeted at 16 GB RAM and 256 GB eMMC for additional storage and processing headroom. Final specifications remain subject to manufacturing validation.
What makes the Founder’s Edition different?
The Founder’s Edition uses the StreamBox Pro platform and adds an individually numbered first-run enclosure, special engraving, premium accessory presentation, and founder recognition. Only 100 numbered Founder’s Edition units are planned.
Does StreamBox require a laptop to stream?
No. StreamBox is being designed as a dedicated streaming appliance with its own local and remote controls. A computer may still be useful for advanced production workflows, but it is not intended to be required for normal StreamBox operation.
When will shipping charges be collected?
Shipping is planned to be collected after the campaign through Kickstarter’s Pledge Manager, once final packaging dimensions, weights, destinations, and fulfillment costs are known.
Can final specifications change before production?
Yes. Final production specifications may change as we complete enclosure engineering, supplier qualification, compliance work, and manufacturing validation. We will communicate material changes before production.
